How It All Began

A few years ago, while rebuilding our deck with one of my daughters, we visited Home Depot for supplies. As we searched for tools, we noticed a glaring absence: aisle after aisle, there were no tools designed for kids.

As a designer, inventor, entrepreneur, and dad of six, I saw an opportunity. Starting with a simple tape measure, I spent months prototyping, tinkering, and refining a kid-safe, fully functional tool that looked like a bird.

The moment I gave it to her, she couldn’t put it down. Instead of spending time staring at a glowing screen, she spent weeks measuring everything in sight. She wanted to help with every project around the house, and soon her siblings joined in.

Our home became a flurry of activity, with the kids running around measuring, leveling, and angle-finding everything they could find.

Mission accomplished, two points for the Dad 🙂

Handy Famm was born from this parenting moment. It’s the first brand to create tools that are as functional as they are fun, designed to inspire creativity and family bonding.
